NC-SARA Information for Complaints
As an institution participating in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA), Iona students who study via distance learning may report relevant concerns or complaints to Iona and/or NYSED using the process detailed on the NC-SARA website. SARA policies do not cover complaints related to grades or student conduct violations. Please note that information on the NC-SARA complaint process webpage is informational only; students cannot submit a complaint to NC-SARA.
Iona University’s Student Complaint and Grievance Policy and Procedures are detailed in the Student Handbook. A student may appeal the institution’s decision to the SARA State Portal Entity in New York State within two years of the incident about which the complaint is made. Details on the New York State Education Department’s complaint procedures can be found here. The New York State Education Department’s complaint procedures specific to SARA can be found here.
