State Certification for Education Programs

STEP 1: Create your TEACH account.

If you have not done so already, create a TEACH account here.

  • Remember to save your username and password for future reference.
  • Also record your first, middle, and last names exactly as you entered them in TEACH. When you get your fingerprints done—and when you take the workshops and certification exams required by the State—entering your name on those exactly as you have in your TEACH account will facilitate the State's access to your records.

STEP 2: Get your fingerprints taken.

Next, arrange to have your fingerprints documented to your TEACH account online here  or by calling MorphoTrust/IDEMIA at: 877-472-6915 to schedule an appointment. The service code is 14ZGQT. Using the correct service code is critical so that your fingerprints will appear in your TEACH account. Information provided to MorphoTrust/IDEMIA during the fingerprint application process is electronically transmitted to the TEACH system.

STEP 3: Submit verification to the Education department.

After your fingerprints have been taken, visit NY.GOV ID, and sign in using the username and password you used to set up your TEACH account. Navigate to “TEACH Online” and on the next page, select “Account Information.” Under the “Select information you want to view” menu, choose “Fingerprinting” and then “Submit”. If your fingerprint results have been sent, your account will indicate “Your DCJS and FBI results have been received.”

Create a screen shot of your TEACH account that includes your name and the phrase Your DCJS and FBI results have been received. See the EXAMPLE screenshot on the next page. Submit the screenshot to the Education department using this TEACH Fingerprint Verification form.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
