We have successfully treated children and adults with a wide range of speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders.

Please contact our clinic if you or a family member (child or adult) are experiencing:

  • difficulties producing sounds
  • problems following directions
  • problems initiating and participating in conversations
  • memory loss or difficulty in problem solving
  • comprehension and/or expression problems with spoken and/or written speech
  • coughing during meals
  • the inability to make their wants and needs known
  • a hoarse/raspy voice, or repeating words or phrases

Scheduling

The Iona University Speech, Language & Hearing Clinic offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment services for both children and adults. The Clinic operates in conjunction with the University academic calendar (Fall, Spring and Summer sessions). The clinic is open Monday through Friday as detailed below. Client services are offered individually during clinic hours.

Clinic Rooms and Spaces

The group therapy room has an oval table in the middle and 6 chairs. There is a two way mirror so that family members can observe.

For adult clients, our Group Therapy spaces provide the perfect setting for concentration and interaction.

The outside of the individual treatment spaces have headphones so that family members can listen in while watching through the two way mirror.

Individual treatment spaces are designed so that therapists and family members can observe sessions without intruding.

The sensory room has a small trampoline as well as large inflatable balls for children to interact with.

We have a Sensory Room with a variety of equipment dedicated to providing younger clients with personalized sensory input.

The treatment space for children has a small table with four small chairs, some red bean bags, and a variety of toys.

The Treatment Space for children is equipped with toys for stimulation and learning and is also the ideal environment for one-on-one and group therapy sessions.
