How do I apply to Iona University?

You can apply to Iona University online as a freshman, transfer, graduate, international or ABSN student. Select the application path that matches your student type to view admission requirements, deadlines and application instructions.

What Do I Need to Apply?

Application requirements vary by student type and program, but most applicants should be prepared to submit the following:

  • Completed application (Common App or Iona application, depending on your program)
  • Official transcripts from your high school, college or university
  • Recommendation letter(s) (required for many undergraduate and graduate programs)
  • Additional supporting materials, such as a résumé, personal statement or portfolio, if required
  • English proficiency and credential evaluations for international applicants
  • Program-specific prerequisites for select programs, including ABSN and certain graduate degrees

Is Iona Test Optional?

Yes. Iona is test optional for undergraduate applicants. SAT and ACT scores are optional for all undergraduate academic programs and are not required for admission. Graduate, international and select specialized programs may require additional exams or supporting documentation depending on the program.

Is There an Application Fee?

No. There is no application fee to apply to Iona University. Freshman applicants using the Common App should enter the fee waiver code provided from Iona to apply at no cost. Most transfer, graduate and specialized Iona applications are also free, though third-party application services may charge their own fees.

When Should I Apply?

Application timelines vary by student type and program. Freshman applicants can apply through Early Decision, Early Action or Regular Decision, while most transfer and graduate programs review applications on a rolling basis. We encourage all students to apply as early as possible to maximize scholarship opportunities and allow plenty of time to complete enrollment requirements.
