Iona's Chase Bateman ’25 Expands His Knowledge of Global Markets Through Asset Management Internship

Chase Bateman ‘25 is a junior from Westerville, Ohio, majoring in finance with a minor in economics at Iona University. He is also a member of the men’s varsity swimming and diving team.
Over the summer, Bateman had the opportunity to intern at the Mirae Asset Securities (USA) in New York City, where he gained exposure to global markets and asset management.
“What I enjoyed most about my internship was the ability to expand my knowledge of global markets and market patterns,” he said. “Additionally, I was able to experience how front and back office trading and asset management functions are completed. The sheer amount of what I have learned in these six weeks has been beyond what I could have imagined.”
Reflecting on his experience in the LaPenta School of Business, Bateman credits his professors for teaching him the skills necessary to get ahead.
“Iona has taught me how to be a good communicator. I’ve also had the ability to learn and grow from professors who are extremely knowledgeable and go out of their way to make sure students succeed in the classroom,” he said. “Having the opportunity to build valuable relationships with my professors and peers has been a distinctive advantage of my Iona experience.”
