Gaels Activities Board (GAB)
Mission Statement: The Gaels Activities Board will serve as the central programming organization at Iona College. GAB seeks to make an impact by providing inclusive campus wide programs in varied interests represented in the demographic make-up of the College.
Meetings for General Members: Every other Tuesday (starting September 5, 2017) at noon in SLRC (opposite end of Starbucks in LaPenta Student Union). These meetings are opened for all students. Amanda Cifelli – Co-Chair
Hey everyone! My name is Amanda Cifelli, I am a senior Mass Communication: Broadcast major and the 2017-2018 academic year is my 3rd year on GAB! Crazy!!! With two years of knowledge and experience, I will be serving as the Co-Chair for GAB this year, where my responsibilities consist of overseeing all Chair positions of GAB, serving as the liaison between GAB and SGA and planning major campus events. A fun fact about me is that I can say all of the U.S. States in alphabetical order in less than 20 seconds. Feel free to ask me to do it if you ever see me on campus!
Maria Halton – Co-Chair
Hi! I'm Maria! I'm a junior and a Speech Language Pathology and Audiology major. This year I will be the Co-Chair for GAB, and I am so excited for this year! A fun fact about me is that I've been on two mission trips, and I will be leading one next year!
Lily Tucci – Recruitment and Retention Chair
Hi! My name is Lily Tucci, and I am a junior majoring in Marketing. I am thrilled to be the Recruitment and Retention Chair for GAB this year. I am the person responsible for general members updated via email and GroupMe as well as maintaining records and attendance of all GAB sponsored events. A tidbit about me is that I am a beach bum, completely in love with where I grew up every summer in Salisbury Beach, Mass. Feel free to come say hello and share your ideas for future events!
James Benedith – Public Relations and Publicity Chair
Hi, my name is James Benedith, and I am a senior Accounting major. I will be the Public Relations Chair for the Gaels Activities Board for the 2017-2018 academic year. My responsibilities are publicizing GAB by creating flyers, posters and thinking of new ways to advertise GAB. One fun fact about me is that I love watching the World Cup.
Alyssa Cordaro – Travel and Tours Programming Chair
I'm Alyssa Cordaro, and I have three sisters, one of them being my twin. I come from a big Italian family, and I love to enjoy time with them. I am starting my sophomore year here at Iona, and I am majoring in Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcasting. I am also a commuter student. My position on the GAB e-board is Travel and Tours Programming Chair. Some of my responsibilities include working directly with a venue to gather group tickets as well as prices, assisting with major campus events and co-sponsoring travel and tour trips with other clubs that are interested in going off campus. Some of these events include sporting events, Broadway shows, etc. A fun fact is that I love to watch sports games even though I never played.
Michaela Weidtman – Noon Time Programming Chair
My name is Michaela Weidtman, I am currently a junior at Iona. I am double majoring in Criminal Justice and History. I will be serving as the Noon Time Activities Chair on the GAB e-board. During activity hours, GAB will be hosting GAB and Go's, Pinterest Parties, anything that interest anyone. If anyone has any ideas, let us know! A fun fact about myself would be that I studied abroad at Iona my sophomore year, I was able to travel the world with some of my best friends. GAB is here for any and all activities on campus. Join; make friends, and make the most of your time at Iona!
Angel Pierre – Diversity Chair
Hi, my name is Angel, and I am a senior from Queens, N.Y., pursuing a Mass Communication major with a concentration in Broadcasting. As the GAB Diversity Chair for the 2017-2018 academic year, I am excited to focus on programming that fosters unity, inclusion and cultural awareness for the Iona community using my skills from my experience on the SGA executive board and College Council Diversity Committee. As Diversity Chair, I will be implementing a myriad of large-scale programs that capture the diverse needs, interests and cultural representation of the Iona student body including, but not limited to, the IC Culture series, Cookin' Tuesdays, Advocacy programs and cultural enrichment opportunities!
Martin Sebastia – Live Performance and Recreation Chair
My name Martin Sebastia, I'm currently a junior here at Iona College studying Finance. My position on GAB is the Live Performance and Recreation Chair, which is responsible for programs such as movie nights, video game tournaments, recreation sporting events, and planning and executing events that involve live performances (comedians, musicians, hypnotist, etc.). Personally, I love soccer and occasionally go water skiing, and you'll always find me at the field or gym here on campus.
