A 15-Credit, Flexible Program

The program consists of 15 credits: one required introductory course and four electives. This flexible structure encourages exploration while providing a solid foundation in regional studies. Courses highlight the experiences and contributions of Latin American and Latino/a communities, examine the legacies of colonialism and resistance and foster awareness of contemporary issues such as human rights, memory, environmental justice and transnational migration.

Students are encouraged to participate in community-based projects, develop ties with the Hispanic community in New Rochelle and the greater New York area, and engage in meaningful public-facing work. The program also supports study-abroad opportunities in Latin America and the Caribbean, allowing students to immerse themselves in local cultures and gain firsthand insight into the region.
