The Theatre Minor at Iona College
The Theatre Minor program provides students with the opportunity to continue their theatre studies and expand their breadth of knowledge and performance experience through a wide variety of course options, as well as performance opportunities in the Theatre Ensemble.
Students are required to take courses in Introduction to The Theatre, Acting, Play Production, Theatre History and Theatre Ensemble and can choose from any of the academic classes for an 18-credit minor. Of those 18 credits, 15 are in theatre and three are in another arts discipline that enables the Theatre Minor student to explore making connections between arts disciplines.
Under close mentorship with theatre faculty members, students develop their aesthetic, theoretical, experiential, and creative knowledge in theatre through courses.
Students interested in the Theatre Minor should contact Professor Thomas Donnarumma, Director of the Theatre Program and Chairperson of the Fine and Performing Arts Department, at (914) 633-2610 or TDonnarumma@iona.edu.
