The completed
School of Business online application form, one letter of recommendation, all undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and a copy of your current résumé. Advanced Certificate applicants should submit a completed application, a copy of your current resume and all official undergraduate and, (if applicable), graduate transcripts. For international students – In addition to the above materials, international students must also submit documentation of ESL proficiency (e.g., TOEFL or IELTS score) and an evaluation of international credentials by a NACES member evaluator (
www.NACES.org).
The GMAT is not required for admission to our graduate business programs. However, you do have the option of taking the GMAT and submitting your scores if you feel it will strengthen your application.
You are only required to send one copy of records for all previous postsecondary education. These must be official transcripts that bear the appropriate signatures and seal of the institution(s) that issued it.
One letter of recommendation is required for most programs, unless otherwise noted in your specific Program Requirements List. Please ask your recommender to send the recommendation on letterhead in a sealed envelope to the Iona College mailing address.
No. We work on a rolling admission basis and will accept applications at any time. But we do encourage you to submit your application a month prior to a session start if possible, to help better assure a smooth transition.
No. Many students do have considerable work experience; however, it is not a prerequisite for admission.
Iona College has removed the $50 application fee.
Our MBA Concentrations are Public Accounting, General Accounting, Health Care Management, Marketing, Management, Finance, Human Resource Management, and Information Systems.
We offer MS degrees in Finance; Project Managament; Public Accounting; and Technology, Media, and Telecommunications in Sports and Business Entertainment.
We also offer certificate programs in each concentration area as well as in Business Continuity and Risk Management, E-Commerce, Health Care Management, International Business, Long Term Care Service Management, Project Management, and Sports and Entertainment Business.
The MBA program requires 33-57 for completion. The 24 credits of the MBA Core can be waived based upon recent undergraduate study. The waivers reduce the credit load. A grade of B or better in an undergraduate equivalent course(s) can grant a MBA waiver. The classes must have been completed less than 7 years ago to qualify for a course waiver.
The MS program requirements vary:
MS in Public Accounting 42 credits
MS in Finance 51 credits
MS in Financial Services 48 credits
MS in International Finance 54 credits

School of Business classes follow a trimester schedule, which includes five registration terms: Fall (end of August), Winter, (late November); Spring (late February) and two Summer sessions. New students can enter our programs at any of these points.
In addition to the eight core classes that can be waived based on undergraduate or graduate credit, one or two classes may be accepted as transfer credit at the discretion of the Director of the Program. All students must complete a minimum of 33 credit hours within the MBA Program to have a degree conferred at Iona.
No. However, we do offer approximately four or five distance learning courses per trimester.
