  • What are the application requirements?

    The completed School of Business online application form, one letter of recommendation, all undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and a copy of your current résumé. Advanced Certificate applicants should submit a completed application, a copy of your current resume and all official undergraduate and, (if applicable), graduate transcripts. Visit our FAQs section to find out if you are required to take the GMAT.

    For international students – In addition to the above materials, international students must also submit documentation of ESL proficiency (e.g., TOEFL or IELTS score) and an evaluation of international credentials by a NACES member evaluator (
  • Do I have to take the GMAT?

    The GMAT is not required for admission to our graduate business programs. However, you do have the option of taking the GMAT and submitting your scores if you feel it will strengthen your application.
  • How do I schedule a GMAT exam?

  • How many copies of my transcripts do I need to submit for my application?

    You are only required to send one copy of records for all previous postsecondary education.  These must be official transcripts that bear the appropriate signatures and seal of the institution(s) that issued it.
  • How many letters of recommendation do I need to submit for my application?

    One letter of recommendation is required for most programs, unless otherwise noted in your specific Program Requirements List. Please ask your recommender to email or mail their recommendation letter directly to your admissions counselor.
  • Is there an application deadline?

    No. We work on a rolling admission basis and will accept applications at any time.  But we do encourage you to submit your application a month prior to a session start if possible, to help better assure a smooth transition.
  • Do you need to have work experience to be accepted into Iona’s MBA Program?

    While many students do have considerable work experience, it is not a prerequisite for admission to the on-campus MBA.

    Students entering into the Online MBA program are required to have 2 or more years of professional work experience.

  • Is there any way to have the application fee waived?

    Iona College has removed the $50 application fee.
  • Are there any scholarships available?

  • What concentrations are offered in the MBA program?

    Students enrolled in the on-campus MBA program have the option to choose a concentration from the following:

    • Business Analytics
    • Financial Management
    • Information Systems
    • Management
    • Marketing
    • Public Accounting

    We also offer several advanced certificate options, which students enrolled in the on-campus MBA program can pursue within their elective space in lieu of a concentration:

    • Business
    • Business Continuity & Risk Management
    • Health Care Management
    • Entrepreneurship & Innovation
  • What concentrations are offered in the Online MBA program?

    Students who are pursuing their MBA fully online will have the opportunity to select from Iona’s most popular elective courses. However there will not be a defined concentration option for the online program.

    If a student is interested in a concentration, or an advanced certificate, they may take those classes on campus.

  • When do classes start?

    The on-campus MBA, MS and Advanced Certificate programs follow a trimester schedule, which includes five registration terms: Fall (end of August), Winter (end of November), Spring (late February), and two Summer sessions (June and July). Admissions are rolling and new students can enter at any of these points.

    The Online MBA has rolling admissions and is structured around 10 week courses. It follows a quarterly schedule which includes four registration terms: Fall (end of August), Winter (end of November), Spring (late February) and Summer Session (June).

  • I am currently in another school’s MBA Program. Does Iona accept transfer MBA credit?

    For students enrolled in the LaPenta School of Business, transfer credit is ordinarily awarded only for courses in the core. In exceptional cases, limited credit may be awarded for advanced courses. In the case of required advanced courses, permission may be given to substitute another course in that subject. A limit of six (6) transfer credits are permitted upon approval by the Assistant Dean.

  • Can I complete an entire program through online courses?

    Yes! Iona College now offers a fully online MBA program which can be completed in as little as 18 months.
