Iona University Media Professor Wins 914INC. Magazine’s Wunderkind Award
Giuseppe (Joe) D’Aloisio, clinical professor and director of Digital Technology & Learning in Iona University’s Media & Strategic Communication Department, continues to elevate the University’s profile through his leadership in digital media education and student success.
D’Aloisio was most recently recognized with 914INC. Magazine’s Wunderkind Award, which was celebrated on May 19, 2026, at the Mamaroneck Beach & Yacht Club. The magazine recognized his work integrating cutting-edge tools, industry practices, and experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for careers in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
Under his guidance, Iona students have achieved national recognition, including recent top honors at the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Media Awards. His mentorship has been instrumental in fostering award-winning student work and expanding opportunities in broadcasting and digital content creation. Through his robust network, he also connects students with top-tier internships and job placements.
“Joe leverages his professional network to connect students with growth opportunities at organizations such as ESPN, NBC, YES Network, NBC Sports, and WFAN,” the magazine highlighted.
The news builds on the Media & Strategic Communication Department’s ongoing growth and success. In April, Iona unveiled plans for a state-of-the-art new media center, designed to unite its robust television, radio, podcasting, virtual reality, drone and esports programs into one collaborative hub in the center of campus.
Highlights of the new media center include:
