This unique study abroad course gives students the opportunity to experience firsthand how business, culture, and innovation come together in a global marketplace. As you travel through some of Italy’s most iconic destinations, you’ll gain valuable international experience while immersing yourself in Italian culture.

Through the program, students will:

  • Explore Rome, Milan, Lake Como, and Florence
  • Visit businesses and organizations and gain behind-the-scenes insight into international business practices
  • Learn how companies operate and succeed in multicultural and global environments
  • Engage with international faculty and professionals
  • Experience Italy’s rich culture through carefully selected cultural attractions, entertainment, and excursions

  • Before traveling, classes at Iona University will prepare you for the academic, cultural, and professional experiences you’ll encounter abroad.

MKT 491: Marketing Adventure in Italy

This course is designed to introduce business students to the many facets of understanding and working in a global destination -- Rome, Milan (including Lake Como), and Florence, Italy.

Requirements

  • Enroll in MKT 491 for Spring 2027 semester
    • Participation in the study abroad portion of the program is required for all students enrolled in the course. By enrolling in the course, you are also committing to participate in the international travel component. Students may not enroll in the course without participating in the study abroad program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA 2.5
  • Prerequisite: BUS 240 – Principles of Marketing
  • Students under any active form of academic or disciplinary probation at the time of departure will not be permitted to participate in the program
