Harness the power of marketing to move the world

Marketing connects business with people. It encompasses all activities involved in planning and managing the flow of goods and services to consumers, in domestic and foreign markets.  Marketing is used to support anything for which there is a demand, from soap to sporting events, high-tech electronics to political candidates.  The customers it affects may range from individuals and households, to large and small businesses, to government agencies.  Whether you see yourself as a creative, analytical, or “people” person, a degree in Marketing will prepare you to pursue your passion in a variety of careers.

We offer Marketing programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Marketing majors gain a solid foundation in all marketing areas, including:

  • Market research
  • Consumer behavior,
    target marketing and positioning
  • Product development
  • Branding
  • Packaging
  • Pricing
  • Promotion
  • Distribution

Undergraduates may also choose to pursue their BBA degrees as International Business majors. This interdisciplinary program is designed to prepare you for a career in the increasingly  interdependent global environment. In addition to core courses, your studies will include a course in Dimensions of International Business and will draw from the major business areas of finance, management and marketing in an international context.

Iona’s MBA program offers a marketing concentration with an international perspective and coursework that further strengthens critical marketing skills and knowledge.

The Marketing Club connects classroom to career

Iona’s Marketing Club hosts activities that enrich and expand upon your classroom experiences, enabling you to explore careers in marketing and network with professionals who serve as guest speakers. The Marketing Club is one of the largest and most active on campus, providing many opportunities for you to socialize, network, engage in community service and serve in leadership roles.

Learn from experienced scholars and business professionals

Iona’s marketing faculty is composed of exceptional teachers, scholars and mentors whose first concern is always your needs and academic progress.  Iona faculty members are actively engaged in research, consulting and service, and regularly network with Iona alumni.  Often described as accomplished and attentive, all of Iona’s full-time marketing faculty members have earned a Ph.D. in their respective field.  Many of Iona’s adjunct faculty members bring relevant professional experience to share with you in the classroom.

Marketing internships––apply your skills

As a marketing major you’ll be encouraged to participate in the internship program, working in a marketing position in the New York metro area for one or two days a week.  You can earn academic credit while gaining invaluable experience–and often a job offer after graduation.  You’ll have an opportunity to work in a wide range of areas such as advertising, market research, public relations, digital marketing, sports marketing, retailing, fashion marketing, event marketing, sales and more.
