Iona Athletics Hosts Women's Leadership Society Dinner

Save the Date, Women's Leadership Society Dinner, January 26, 2018
NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Iona College athletics is excited to announce its inaugural Women's Leadership Society Dinner to take place on campus on Friday, January 26. The event will include three alumni among the five guest presenters.

Title IX, a groundbreaking law which reshaped college athletics, celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2017. In recognition of the anniversary, the Iona Gaels Women's Leadership Society was established to support and position women's athletics at Iona for continued success. The inaugural dinner will be used as a forum for prominent Iona alumni and friends to speak to our current female student-athletes as part of a leadership panel.

"We are extremely excited to host the inaugural Women's Leadership Society Dinner," said Matt Glovaski, deputy director of Athletics. "We have a terrific group of panelists who to provide invaluable insight and advice to our current student-athletes. This is the first of a series of events geared towards celebrating and positioning women's athletics for success at Iona College. We hope alumni, friends, family and members of the Iona community will come out to support this great occasion."

What a great opportunity for our female student-athletes to be surrounded by professional women who will be able to share some great career and leadership advice that's helped them be successful,” added Melissa Inouye, head softball coach.

Linda Bruno '76, '79 MS - Bruno Sport Enterprises
Anne Marie Hynes, Esq. - President of the Hynes Foundation
